25/26 Weeks Baby Bump

Drum Roll!

WE HAVE MOVED!!

This was our little "surprise." Though to many it may seem small. Hubby and I were excited to move into our new neighborhood and apartment. It is cozy, filled with warmth and great character! Plus the added bonus, of some pretty awesome downstairs neighbors! I couldn't think of a better place to bring Bump-E home to.

Life has been crazy beautiful! Each day brings excitement of "hibernating" for awhile this winter! That also follows with the slight hope of life slowing down, maybe just for a minute! A new baby to snuggle is topping our list. This week marks 26 weeks. Everything is going well! I am growing and so is baby. Baby bump pictures to follow soon:)

Saying Goodbye To Grandma

This is a picture of my Grandmother, Thelma Irene. It was taken over a year ago at our wedding. Every time I look at it, it captures another story or thought. I have always loved pictures of the older generation. I see immense beauty, with stories to be told. I love how her earrings are a pop of color! Perhaps shows the spunky side of who she was. It has become one of those pictures that says a thousand words. Some of those words bring pain, while others etch memories on my heart. Her last years on this earth, were an ebb and flow of dealing with Alzheimer's, and other various health issues. An illness that takes a toll on that person, and those caring for them. I am thankful that her Alzheimer's was not one that allowed her to forget my name or face. I was still greeted with a huge hug and a smile. Something so simple, yet, so tender. It is crazy how when someone says our name, it does something to us. Stirs something from within.

It is this weekend, October 31st, that we will say our final goodbye. Laying her to rest beside my Grandfather. A day of tears shed, but also a day of memories and smiles. I am blessed to call you my Grandma!

Hard Morning!

Literally!

I have been hoping that this cold weather would aid in my ignorance is bliss mentality. You see, it's inevitable that this was to occur. I was even warned a month ago, from a woman who experienced it first hand, to just let go, before some drastic measure had to take place. This morning drastic measures were in full swing! I will officially declare to the public that I have "Sausage Fingers." Thank you pregnancy. Please just don't move to my feet, I would rather not have cankles! Why was I was banking on the cold weather? It makes my fingers shrink and my wedding ring fits perfectly, every time! But I have come to the honest conclusion that most days, even when cold, my Wedding ring is getting a little too snug. It was enough this morning to put fear in my heart, a fear that they would have to cut my ring off of me at some point. So, this morning there I stood at the kitchen sink, with freezing cold water running down my fingers. No such luck on that try. Off to the bathroom to find some lotion, after my fingers were lubed, it took two tries and my ring finally slipped off. With that final tug, I feel like a little bit of my heart tugged as well. How is that for dramatic:) Really, a ring is just a symbol (a pretty one) a material item that when we leave this earth, will not be joining me. It also has nothing to do with the commitment that I made to my husband. But today, it is close to my heart, from my husband, always on my finger. I am feeling finger naked-ness. I even tried placing it back on my finger for one last try, but I knew that this time it was for real. For now an old ring will have to do....Sigh February and getting my fingers back, cannot come soon enough!

Fall Feelings!

22 Weeks! My belly popped fast, but now it is slowly growing. I am ok with that:) Bump-E is about 11 inches and weighing in at around 1 pound. Can you say Spaghetti Squash. Who knew! I even had to look that one up. I thought I would post a visual food picture, as it reminded me of the fall weather that we are experiencing here in Minnesota. Bump-E's lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct. Tiny tooth buds are developing under the gums. The eyes have formed but the Iris lacks pigment. Our little one is also sporting wrinkles! Which will slowly go away once this kid starts packing on the pounds! Bump-E is officially starting to look like a miniature newborn:) The only complaint towards my pregnant body would be, Round Ligament Pains! Every so often in the middle of the night, I will wake up and it feels awful! What do I crave, sweets! But that my friends is nothing new:)

?

I apologize for the lack of posting. There are a few things that have been keeping our little household on their toes!

High on the list would be Nesting, Sweet little one, I fall more in love with you everyday. Your kicks and squirms are an awesome reminder of our Creator! Almost 21 weeks puts us half way through this pregnancy, yikes! Which is also a great reminder of the many things I have yet to accomplish! The nursery and registering for baby showers has slowly crept up on me. Hubby and I are also at "war." Last night was the battle of the thermostat. Hubby thought that it was time to turn on the heat, I thought that it was nowhere near the time of needing the heat. Take one hormonal, always warm pregnant woman, and one always cold blooded husband and what do you get?!?! I will let you answer that one yourself:) I will give you a little hint and say, that we did come to a happy medium conclusion. And this morning when I woke up I turned the heat off for the day;)

There is also a small "secret" in the making, which I should be able to share later this week!

For the next of couple weeks be prepared for sporadic postings! We are living life! Which if I may remind you, looks a little like Crazy Beautiful:)

Baby's First Pictures!

I am pumped to report that we are having a healthy baby! Given by the thumbs up of the little one, Bump-E agrees that picture time was a blast. Although, this baby is stubborn already. We spent over an hour in the ultrasound room trying to get this little bugger to cooperate. It was extremely squirmy and putting it's hands all over it's face.
We decided, and even rehearsed before we went, what our answer would be when the Tech asked if we wanted to know what we were having. The answer was right on cue, nope! But our inklings lean more and more towards a girl. The last picture is my Week 19! Crazy time is flying so quickly. After today, I am even more excited to meet this little one.

Alive and Kick'n!

Today I am making a "mental" writing note. As of September 16th, 2008 I officially felt Bump-E kick and squirm within my tummy!

According to the Bradley Birthing Method book that I have been reading, research has shown that the first day you feel actual baby movement, you are to take that date and add 5 months. According to this method, this will either be the actual day of birth, or near the time of soon to be delivery. Which would put us at February 16, 2010. 4 days before my actual due date of February 20th. I guess time will tell of how accurate this really is. I am excited for baby Bump-E to put this to the test. Choose wisely little one!
